Managing partner of Antika Law Firm Alexey Kot took part in the 2013 Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA)

On October 6-11, 2013 in Boston (the USA) the 2013 Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) took place which, in condition of the continued globalization of the legal services market, became a platform for meeting old acquaintances and establishing new ones for the representatives of legal profession, bar associations and law societies.

The Conference was divided into forums per each region, and separate sections, namely antitrust, corporate, criminal, public law sections as well as dispute resolution, real estate, financial services sections, where the participants had an opportunity to share and to wider experience through interaction and learning what is happening in the definite legal field from like-minded lawyers and leading practitioners in many jurisdictions from all over the world.

The most crucial issues that the President of the IBA Michael Reynolds put on the top for discussion this year were challenge of climate change and the need for the legal profession to play an active role in the protection of the less privileged members of the community as well as issue of human trafficking as a global problem and how legal profession help together with NGOs and governments to mitigate this industry.
