On November 13, 2014 Kyiv hosted the II International Arbitration readings in memory of Academician Igor Pobirchenko arranged by the International Commercial Arbitration Court and the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The main topic of this year’s readings was the arbitration agreements, their basic principles and current trends.

During the event the participants discussed the necessity to amend the Law of Ukraine “On International Commercial Arbitration” in the part of the form of the arbitration agreements, reviewed issues related to the arbitration agreements classification, their validity term and interpretation, grounds the arbitration agreements can be deemed as null and void, as well as competence on their validity.

Alexey Kot gave a speech on topic “Pathology of arbitration agreements and the possibility of their correction”.
