On March 12, 2015 the extended session of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine took place. The participants analyzed the problems that had a negative influence on the Committee’s activities last year, resumed Committee’s work, in particular estimated its economic efficiency.

The participants defined that in 2014 the AMCU’s work was aimed at detecting and preventing the abuse of monopolistic position at the markets, anticompetitive actions of state authorities while providing administrative services, unfair competition at the markets of the agro commodity complex, anticompetitive concerted actions of business entities while performing tender procurement procedures as well as violations of competition law in the housing and utility sector, fuel and energy sector, health care and medicines, etc.

Among the objectives of the Committee for 2015 the participants defined those that issue from the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the Coalition Agreement and the Activities Program for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The extended session was followed by the session of the Public Council of the AMCU where the issues related to its composition, territorial offices and others were discussed.
