On May 19, 2015 Kyiv hosted the Ukrainian Antitrust Forum organized by Yuridicheskaya Praktika publishing.

During the event participant discussed a number of topical issues related to competition law, the necessity to develop it as well as to introduce certain reforms due to difficult political and economic situation in the country, issues related to implementing new protection mechanisms from unfair competition, taking into account Ukrainian situation and foreign experience.

The participants paid a special attention to the issue of control over concentrations, in particular the peculiarities to obtain permits and developing their obtaining procedures as well as issues of antitrust compliance, the procedure of implementing compliance programs in the companies.

Within the framework of the session devoted to discussing court practice on antitrust disputes, Alexey Kot gave a speech on topic: “The role of the courts in competition protection” where he specified the problem areas of considering the case in the AMCU, main problems to challenge the AMCU decisions as well as main tendencies while considering the antitrust disputes in the court. Alexey also paid attention of the Forum’s participants on the necessity to introduce reforms to the antitrust legislation, AMCU procedures, practices and approaches.
