Partner of Antika Law Firm Alexander Burtovoy took part in the analytical study as a part of the project of the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) “Establishment of Energy Agencies in Ukraine”.

According to the results of the research the company “iC consulten” prepared a report “Energy Efficiency in Ukraine: on the way to reform.”

The aim of the study was to answer the question: “What are the priority steps to overcome the barriers to energy efficiency reforms and allow scaled energy savings in Ukraine?”.

Study participants, including representatives of central and local authorities, enterprises and research institutions, NGOs, international technical assistance projects and international financial institutions have analysed the main barriers that hinder reforms in the field of energy efficiency, as well as provided suggestions on priority areas to overcome them. This approach allowed to provide a comprehensive and objective assessment of the main problems and to identify the most immediate priorities for boosting reforms in the energy efficiency sector in the short and medium-term.

Prepared report is of practical value for development and implementation of activities at the national and regional level to improve the energy efficiency of the Ukrainian economy.
