The launch of the wholesale electricity market is an extremely hot topic. Yesterday, July 16, Aleksander Burtovyy, a partner at Antika Law Firm, took part in a round table of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Fuel and Energy, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety, during which the first results and challenges of the wholesale electricity market introduced on July 1, 2019 were discussed.
In particular, talked about direct contracts, market segments: the market for the day ahead, the intraday market, the balancing market and the market of ancillary services. The experts also discussed shortcomings and gaps, unexpected factors and problems, as well as ways to improve legal relations in this area.
