On March 22, 2017, Kyiv hosted Legal Forum FMCG & Retail 2017 organized by the Yurydycheskaya Practika Publishing.
Partners of Antika Law Firm Alexey Kot, Sergii Korniienko, Maxim Korchagin took part in the Forum.
Alexey Kot moderated the panel discussion devoted to prospects of the FMCG and retail sector development in Ukraine. Within the panel, the participants exchanged opinions on deregulation policy in the sector, the role of the state, development of the competition, the influence of IT on the FMCG and retail sector, market access for the new players etc.
Participants of the Forum also discussed the most topical issues related to unfair competition, namely while creating an advertisement of the product using misleading information. Understanding that advertisement and marketing are the main instruments to introduce brand at the market, the speakers offered practical advice on how to make a good advertisement and to avoid antitrust legislation violations.
A certain attention was paid to intellectual property, including issues related to implementing EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in this part as well as issues on how to define and to fight with parasitic goods and counterfeit products at the market.
At one of the panel discussions tax disputes, disputes with suppliers, and court practice related to international business contracts’ terms fulfillment were discussed.
