Alexey Kot, managing partner of Antika Law Firm, made a speech during the 1st CIS Competition Law Conference
The 1st CIS Competition Law Conference, organized by Ukrainian Bar Association jointly with International Bar Association (IBA) and supported by Supporting Competition in the CIS Non-Profit Partnership, was held on December 8-9, 2011 in Kiev.
Rafael Kuzmin, First Deputy AMCU Chairman — State Commissioner, Yuriy Kravchenko, First Deputy AMCU Chairman – State Commissioner, Pavel Subbotin, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia, Oksana Gvozdilina, Judge of the Supreme Commercial Court of the Russian Federation, Michael Reynolds, IBA Vice-President, Vassily Rudomino, Chairman of Supporting Competition in the CIS Non-Profit Partnership, representatives of Ukrainian, Belorussian, Belgian, German and Russian law firms participated in the conference.
The members of the Conference discussed the issues of development of the antimonopoly legislation and the practice of its application, fighting abuse of dominance, merger control in Ukraine, Asian Region and the CIS countries, fighting cartels, exemption from liability, and also private-legal instruments of defense against violation of the competition legislation.
Alexey Kot moderated the section on discussion of fighting cartels issues.
