Managing partner of Antika Law Firm, member of the Scientific and Advisory Council of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Alexey Kot participated in the international conference “Judicial law-making in the mechanism of implementation of the rule of law principle in the context of reforming justice”

On November 24-25, 2016 in the Supreme Court of Ukraine the international conference “Judicial law-making in the mechanism of implementation of the rule of law principle in the context of reforming justice” was held. The event was organized by the Supreme Court of Ukraine, National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, in collaboration with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine “Safeguarding Human Rights through Courts” project with the financial support of the Government of Canada and some other international projects for the implementation of the judicial reform in Ukraine.

The conference was attended by judges from Ukraine, Germany, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, scientists from Moldova and Georgia, national and international experts.

The conference participants discussed the issues of sources of law in the context of modern legal consciousness, the rule of law in a system of law, judicial law-making prospects in Ukraine and framework of the judicial discretion.

Alexey Kot made a speech devoted to mechanisms for ensuring the unity of judicial practice.
